These photos show Ponte Luiz I, the most famous bridge in Porto. It's a fantastic metal structure. The lower part is where cars and people can cross and the top part is where trains and the metro cross.
I've heard several stories from my dad that when he was younger loads of people used to jump off the bridge into the river. This is of course highly dangerous because of the very strong currents of the river.
Both these photos were taken on the side of Porto, known as the Ribeira, and you can see Vila Nova de Gaia on the other side, and the area around closest to the water is called Cais de Gaia. This is also where you can find all the Port Wine Houses, such as Calem, Sandeman, Ferreira and many others.
