Here's my African Twilight finished and being used by me. I loved the pattern, and it was super easy to memorize. I'm definitely making this one again. I had about 50g left over of the blue and about 10g of the purple. The colors really came out well, despite having doubts at the beginning. 
I received the above yarn as part of Fibres d'Art's yarn club, and I immediately thought about Stephen West's Daybreak, but I didn't know if I had enough yarn to complete the project, so I decided to try it out with Malabrigo Sock in African Violet and Cote d'Azur first as that has the same yardage as the two Fibres d'Art yarns.
After my Fair Isle workshop on the 15th of January, I couldn't just put it aside and I had to start a project straight away, so I choose some Lopo Xavier yarn I had lying around in a petrol blue and light grey and having found a baby blanket that inspired me to design this cowl. I used the charts used in the blanket, but modified them to fit the cowl and changed this a bit. This is the result so far. I've used 100g of the petrol blue yarn already and almost through 100g of the light grey, and I still haven't finished yet. I'll be starting a new ball of petrol blue, but I think I can manage with the remaining light grey yarn I have left over.

Since learning to knit socks at the beginning of the year, I've made 8 pairs of socks this year. I'll be making more in the years to come as my mum sure appreciates them and I am liking the warmth of them as well in the cold weather we are currently experiencing here in Portugal.
I've been busy doing Christmas Knitting. That's to say I've been busy knitting present to give at Christmas. These are all the same pattern, but using a variegated yarn (Carina bought at Wibra in Den Haag and Leidschendam, Holland), they get a different look. The two above were from one ball of Carina, leaving me with about 10g left over, these two are currently blocking. The one below is the first one of two as well, the second one is about halfway done. These mini shawls/kerchiefs are super easy to make and you can find the pattern here, it's a free Ravelry download. I manage to average about 4 hours per kerchief. I hope the recipients will like them.
So on Ravelry I joined the Free Pattern Testers Group, which is where designers request their patterns to be tested by a number of people (however many they want) to make sure that the pattern makes sense before it gets published. I test knitted this gorgeous hat for Olga Jasnovidova. It was based on Estonian lace and it was a very simple pattern to follow. I made the small version (tight fit instead of slouchy fit) and as I was taking photos to post on Ravelry, little Rusty came along wanting some attention, so he got to be in the photo also.
This is the latest piece of knitting that I've finished. It was a Test Knit for Ravelry and a really fast project to make. I used Rowan Cotton Glace and needles 3.75 and 4mm.
